Etymology: In reference to the county of Saltillo, Coahuila
State, Mexico, upon which the village of
Gomez Farias depends, 'Ringlizard from the county of Saltillo'.

Holotype: CEP1823, MUDE
Locality: Sierra de Bunuelas, near Gomez Farias, Saltillo County, Coahuila State, Mexico.
Horizon: La Caja Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Tithonian Stage, Upper Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.
Material: Partial cranium; the frontal, intertemporal bar, occipital face
and quadrates, and caudal-most portions of both supratemporal bars are preserved
in articulation while both partial palatines and (?) right nasopharyngeal canal
are disarticulated, both poorly preserved manidibular rami, articulated atlas,
axis and cervical vertebrae 3 to 5.
